Speedos. Firefighters. Business suits.
That was the scene Monday night as 14 teams took to the streets of Logan to compete in the second annual Red Bull chariot race.
The event kicked off A-Week at USU.
Kyle Hardy, the Red Bull representative at Utah State University, said he thought the race had great benefits to the university.
"A lot of it is just for fun to let students use their creativity, and their strength," Hardy said. "This is kind of what college is about."
The chariots were made of anything from garbage cans and shopping carts to welded metal frames.
The final two teams were “Classy-fied” and the team representing the Sigma Chi fraternity.
“Classy-fied” -- the winning team -- consisted of Trevor Mann, Steve Mitton and Britnee Bromley.
The final race seemed to be evenly matched but shortly after the start time, "Classy-fied" had taken the lead and maintained a large margin until the last stretch of the course.
Heading into the final turn, “Classy-fied” caught the edge of the chariot on a hay bale and it tipped on its side. Bromley proceeded to encourage Mitton and Mann to continue with the race and maintain their lead.
With the gap between the two teams rapidly closing, “Classy-fied” dragged Bromley the last 15 feet to the finish line to take the win.
The team won a trip to one of Red Bull's headquarters in Austin, Texas.
"We had a good time," Bromley said. "I’m pumped but my arm hurts."
